NFL Week 3:______________________
Here is Smelly Goat Rug Champion Predictions:
| KC Chiefs (AM) @ SD Chargers (DS) | Chiefs already sucked, and now they are without Jamaal Charles for the rest of the year (there only good player). AM draw a new team. Prediction: SD Chargers by 28 |
| Houston Texans (BD) @ NO Saints | Two very good offenses match-up here, so expect a shootout. BD definitely upgraded with her redraw, but won’t get a win if Brees throws for 400+ yards. Prediction: NO Saints by 1 |
| GB Packers (BH) @ Chi Bears | Divisional matchups are going to be extremely important in the NFC Central where you can expect 3 teams to be above .500 but only two making the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers has been sharp, and the Bears secondary just got shredded by Drew Brees. Go with the defending champs in a close one. Prediction: GB Packers by 3 |
| Bal Ravens (KCar) @ STL Rams (CS) | KCar upgraded even if she doesn’t know it. The Ravens D is solid and will stop a hobbled STL team. Flacco will play more like week one and the Ravens will win. Prediction: Bal Ravens by 7 |
| AZ Cardinals (KCoo) @ Sea Seahawks (GB) | The AFC West is awful. But if you have to pick between bad and worse, I’m going with the bad Cardinals. Prediction: AZ Cardinals by 4 |
| SF 49ers @ Cin Bengals (JJ) | MR hooped ship too soon. The SF 49ers played Dallas tough and will win on the road against a young Cincinnati team still developing. Prediction: SF 49ers by 5 |
| NE Patriots (JMSCoo) @ Buffalo Bills | A surprise game of unbeatens. The Bills offense has played really well, but the Patriots D will stop them just enough for Tom Brady and his girly hair to win. Prediction: NE Patriots by 7 |
| Denver Broncos (KA) @ TN Titans (MR) | An early match-up of redraws. “TD Jesus” will stay on the bench as long as Orton can win games, but expect the talk to begin anew as the Titans will win this one at home. Prediction: TN Titans by 3 |
| NY Jets (KW) @ Oakland Raiders | NY Jets D will win another game on their own. Prediction: NY Jets by 14 |
| Atlanta Falcons @ TB Buccaneers (LF) | Big game in the NFC South. Both teams will play well, but I’m going with Atlanta in a nail-biter. Prediction: Atlanta Falcons by 1 |
| WA Redskins (SCan) @ Dallas Cowboys (MO) | The biggest factor in this game is whether Romo plays with his broken rib/punctured lung. It’s doubtful, which means Jon Kitna will be at Dallas’ helm (and yes, Jon Kitna is the same QB who led Detroit to a 0-16 season). Despite this grim news, Dallas’ D will be solid and they’ll find a way to win. Prediction: Dallas Cowboys by 1 |
| Miami Dolphins @ Clev Browns (SL) | Neither team is great, but I’m picking the Browns at home. Prediction: Clev Browns by 4 |
Italicized teams still available for $0.50
Week 6 CIML Recap:_________________
SE Polk (JM/Scoo) beat Dowling (LF) 27-9. Dowling's key player was injured, and Coach Tom Wilson was quoted, "I think it's wait and see at this point." Wow, the eloquence of the Monroe grad is astounding.
Ottumwa (KW) homecoming was also a huge success, beating Hoover (KCoo) 56-10, this week's biggest margin of victory in the CIML.
Lincoln (GB) had 19 penalties and seven fumbles and still beat Roosevelt (JJ) 39-17.
As predicted, Ankeny (BD) beat Urbandale (MO) 28-13. (That's Skanks over Scurves)
CS got her first CIML point when East (CS) beat North (JJ) 36-7. (Another winless week for JJ)
Waukee (AM) beat Mason City (KA) 42-6, despite having a "Jersey Shore" dress-up day during spirit week.
Fort Dodge (KCar) beat Ames (SL) 28-20. The Dodgers were helpedremendously by Fort Dodge's Mark Cady leading the out-of-towners cheering section. He brought cowbells and airhorns for the entire Fort Dodge crowd. When Ames' Bob Mahan was asked if this game would hurt his relationship with Cady, Mahan said, "I think it's wait and see at this point."
Johnston (MR) beat Indianola (DS) 14-7, and MR will get to keep her point because MO was not on the homecoming court.
Valley (BH) and Marshalltown (SCan) did not play this week.
