TC Week #8 and PR Week #9

Due to budget cuts, I must trim 10% of the amount of time I spend tracking these shows, and thus, you get crappy recaps.

On TC, Ash went home, knocking MR into second place.  Now, only CS has all of her contestants.  And she doesn’t even watch.  Maybe that’s the key!

Here’s a quick PR recap.  Seriously, WTF?  The designers were given their assignment by famous designer Bob Mackie.  Their assignment—design a show stopping stage look for Christina Aguilera!  Very exciting.  The show’s opening focuses on Carol Hannah, Shirin, and Logan, which means their designs will be somewhere in the bottom or top. 

Logan makes some crazy zebra cavewoman outfit, and Nicolas essentially remakes his sci-fi design from a few weeks back.  Carol Hannah is freaking out because she doesn’t create designs that are over the top, but she has plenty of time to flirt with Logan.  Logan is laid back, but isn’t really sure what kind of clothes Christina Aguilera wears (he is a heterosexual, so it’s excused).  Shirin has no idea what she’s going to do.  Gordana is freaking out because her fabric sucks, but luckily she has immunity.  And queen Irina just sits back and criticizes everyone:  Shirin doesn’t deserve to be there; Carol Hannah drives her effing crazy; etc. 

Tim has some serious concerns about many of the designs, and the designers work hard to “make it work.”

Judges of the runway show are Heidi, Bob Mackie, Nina Garcia (yay!  We missed you Nina!), and Christina.

Following the runway show, Irina is safe (take that!).  Gordana is told she is damn lucky to have immunity, because her design was a disaster.  Top three designers are Carol Hannah, Althea (she’s just too chipper for me), and Nicolas (no one calls him out on the fact that his dress (1) looks like its for a figure skater and (2) looks like his design from a couple of weeks ago). 

The winner of the challenge is Carol Hannah (CS).  I really like her—her designs are generally well-constructed and executed.  Plus she’s just cute.  *girl crush*  Take that evil Irina!

Bottom two are Shirin and Christopher (again!).  Even though Christopher has been in the bottom for numerous weeks and Shirin was in the top last week, Shirin is auf’d.  I’m very disappointed by this decision.   There are some serious issues that PR needs to work out in my opinion.  I don’t think Shirin would’ve won the overall competition, but the judges regularly let people who put forth mediocre clothing week after week continue and send home good designers for one bad design.  But hey, ya’ll have seen me.  WTH do I know about fashion?

Anyway, which Shirin’s auf, KM is also auf’d!!  This means KM has four out like me (actually five if you count the first quarter mulligan)!  And I’m still one point up on DS.  That’s right.  Tonight, I’m awesome.
