It's a French connection when the food fighters
form pairs to whip up delectable French dishes.
Culinary masters Joel Robuchon, Daniel Boulud,
Hubert Keller, Laurent Tourondel and Jean Joho
make appearances.
I’ll try to keep this short because I’m not feeling so well tonight. As you can see, this week’s theme is French cuisine, and I don’t mean French fries or toast!
For the quickfire challenge, the chefs were asked to make a winning dish using snails as protein. Yum. The winner won immunity, and this week, the loser goes home.
The best quickfire dishes were created by Mike I., Kevin, and Jennifer. And the winner is…. Kevin! He just seems like a nice guy. I’d like him to cook me something and then we’d have a beer afterwards and hang out.
The losing quickfire dishes were created by Jesse, Ashley, and Robin. They are given a second chance—they have to cook some sort of dish in 20 minutes. The judges will judge their dish with one bite, and the loser will go home. The losing chef was Jesse. Poor Jesse. She was really embarrassed and wanted America to know she doesn’t really suck.
With Kevin’s win, he gets immunity and a bonus prize. He doesn’t have to participate in the challenge and gets to eat with the judges. Go Kevin!
For the elimination challenge, the judges pick knives that either have a protein or a French sauce listed. The judges then paired up into teams of two to create a dish based on their protein and sauce.
The winning teams are Mike I. and Brian, and Mike V. and Jen. And the winner is….. Brian! That’s right, a Voltaggio wins again. And Brian also takes the lead in elimination challenge victories over his brother, which is all he really cares about. He won something—I think he gets to work for the guest chef? How very nice for him.
The losing teams are Mattin and Ashley, and Ash and Hector. Mattin kind of blames everything on Ashley, and Ashley just lets him. She just looks like she’s finished here, and I really thought she was going home, although the judges were quick to point out that this was Mattin’s opportunity to shine. But, it’s Hector who’s told to pack his knives and go. His roast was unevenly cooked and apparently looked as if it was sliced with a hatchet.
And with Jesse and Hector going home, our corresponding contestants that are eliminated this week are….
AM and SL!
I’ll update scores tomorrow after project runway.
Also, teams for the Amazing Race have been announced. We’ll be drawing teams probably tomorrow. Night all!
