MO's Big Ten Predictions for Week 3

We’re in the third week of the season, but here is the first COARSE post for the Big Ten.

The Big Ten continues to play non-conference games this week.  Although many teams will get their first real challenges, overall expect the Big Ten to come out ahead in many of the contests.

The floor football guru makes the following predictions for this week’s games:

Games
Players
Prediction
Illinois v. Arizona St.
KCoo/KW
#22 Arizona State looks to maintain momentum after a big overtime victory against then rated Missouri last week.  Expect Illinois to keep it close at home, but eventually fall.

Prediction:  Arizona State by 3
Indiana v. S. Carolina St.
KA
If Indiana loses this one, they should just stop playing football for the rest of the year and focus on their men’s soccer team (who’s nationally rated).

Prediction:  Indiana by 7
Iowa v. Pittsburgh
BD/GB
Although their defense looked awful against Iowa State, Iowa should play better at home.

Prediction:   Iowa by 3
Michigan v. E. Michigan
KCar
This in-state opponent won’t stop the Wolverines from starting 3-0.

Prediction:  Michigan by 24
Michigan State @ Notre Dame
BH/JJ
Michigan State is ranked #15, and Notre Dame has started their season 0-2.  Nonetheless, most people have MSU as a road underdog.  Most people know nothing.

Prediction:  Michigan State by 1.
Minnesota v. Miami (OH)
Scan
Minnesota played so bad last week; their coach had a seizure from watching it.  They won’t look any better, but should get their first win.

Prediction:  Minnesota by 5
Nebraska v. Washington
JMSCoo
Nebraska rolled over Washington last year even though Washington had a Heisman Candidate as a QB, expect the same result at home this year

Prediction:  Nebraska by 14
Northwestern @ Army
DS
Northwestern will stop Army’s triple-option, and get just enough offense to claim victory in this campaign.

Prediction:  Northwestern by 7
Ohio State @ Miami (FL)
SL
Miami will start Jacory Harris at QB after a brief suspension for his role in “Miami-gate.”  Harris should be rusty and likely tired from staying up all night with hookers, blow, and free drinks.  Ohio State will play a lot better than they did against Toledo.

Prediction:  Ohio State by 2
Penn State @ Temple
CS
Penn State recovers from last week loss and beats Temple.

Prediction:  Penn State by 10
Purdue v. SE Mo. St.
AM/MO
Purdue has not looked good this season, but should bounce back from last week’s loss with an easy win against a FBS opponent

Prediction:  Purdue by 14
Wisconsin @ N. Illinois
LF/MR
Wisconsin goes on the “road” (a whole 2 hour drive down I-90) and gets an easy win

Prediction: Wisconsin by 21
