Crazy week for NCAA football upsets. Iowa lost to Minnesota. How is that even possible? Oh yeah, we suck. Wisconsin fell to Ohio State, Michigan State lost to Nebraska.... And Penn State is ranked? Nutz. Everyone in NCAA football this year must be awful.
In important news, The Sing-Off was on last night! Be sure to comment below about the show--I know you all watched it and enjoyed it as much as I did.
Only seven teams left at the start of the show, and one was sent home. Who was it, you jest (because you watched and know, of course)? We'll get to that in just a moment.
The groups had to perform a medley of songs by an artist/group. The groups' choices included Britney Spears, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, Elvis, Billy Joel, and Queen.
I am a huge Queen fan, and I also love Broadway musicals. This was a great combo and definitely worth checking out:
Even if you aren't a fan of this style of music, you have to give them props--Incredibly difficult songs to sing and they nailed it. I think I'm crushing on the lead singer at the end (singing Somebody to Love). He is amazing, and he has great stage presence (a phase I learned from American Idol, thanks Paula Abdul!). I don't see them winning the competition, but then again, most of the groups the judges like I think sound terrible. Must be a live versus T.V. thing going on. I thought the Elvis and Britney Spears songs were terrible, but they liked them. Maybe I just can't get past the music?
